Community Update - Launch Day + 1

So here we are, just coming to the end of the first day of full game launch and to the end of the first week for Early Game Access. By all accounts we have gleaned from our daily trek of the inter-webs and/or in-game chatting with folks, SWTOR seems to be on course for one of the smoothest triple ‘A’ title launches ever. Of course, it hasn’t been all first try hyperspace jumps and holo-dancers either. There has been some significant QQ’ing on the official forums and other places about things such as ‘fairness of the EGA rollout’, grace period for Pre-Order customers to alleviate shipping woes from retail partners and freight carrier congestion, and last but definitely not least, server queues. While Bioware has addressed each of these and other community frustrations in stride, it seems to us that most of these things are just routine for a game of this caliber and size. Keep up the good work Bioware.

What do you think of when you think of a role-player (RP'er)? Stop when you picture a "Ren Fair". You're there? Thought so. Well, that's what I think of too and to be honest, I don't want to be that guy. You know what guy I speak of. That guy who speaks in Old English, or the guy who says "engage" when he shifts his car in drive. Well, as the Force would have it, I think I may have turned into an RP'er.

Welcome my fellow Padawans and esteemed Masters. (Also, you Apprentices and Darths are welcome too.) This is the first in my class-specific series for the Jedi Consular Shadow. As I write this, it is only 3 days away to possible Early Access into Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR or TOR). It's been a long journey to get here. My account creation date on the official swtor.com site shows 2008. That was created shortly after the last time I left the Star Wars Galaxies MMO in disgust. So I come to TOR with high hopes. I have been in the general beta for awhile but I just could not play the shadow because I wanted it to be a fresh experience for me on launch. So, my article will develop overtime but I will be writing from the perspective, not of a seasoned beta player, but one of the masses who are now frantically reading skill descriptions in preparation for launch. So where do we begin?

Welcome! This is the official launch of the CGFG (Citizens for a Gungan Free Galaxy) community and guild. We have so much planned for the future around Star Wars: The Old Republic. Although we've been following the development of the game very closely, the idea to go ahead with our own community and guild is very recent.
